چکیده

A key facility of active database management systems is their ability to detect and react to the occurrence of events. Such events can be either atomic in nature, or speciied using an event algebra to form complex events. An important role of an event algebra is to deene the semantics of when events become invalid (event consumption). In this paper, we examine a simple event algebra and provide a logical framework for speciication of various consumption policies. We then study the problems of equivalence and implication, identifying a powerful class of complex events for which equivalence is decidable. We then demonstrate how extensions of this class lead to undecidability.

SQL Queries for Declarative Process Mining on Event Logs of Relational Databases

Flexible business processes can often be modelled more easily using a declarative rather than a procedural modelling approach. Process mining aims at automating the discovery of business process models. Existing declarative process mining approaches either suffer performance issues with real-life event logs or limit their expressiveness to a specific set of constaint types. Lately, with Relatio...

Comparing spiritual intelligence and emotional expressiveness in psychosomatic patients

The most important issues of psychology is psychosomatic disease. This study aimed to compare spiritual intelligence and emotional expression in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, coronary heart disease and asthma. This research was a post-event descriptive study. The statistical population included patients with coronary heart disease, irritable bowel syndrome and asthma that attended Ima...

Diierential Evaluation of Continual Queries

Information Superhighway environments such as the Internet have brought us ready access to large amount of information. However, Internet data is notoriously unorganized and autonomously managed in a distributed fashion. Large scale informationmonitoring in the Internet environment requires support beyond traditional database techniques. Two of the key issues are the increasing reward in monito...

Relational Databases Query Optimization using Hybrid Evolutionary Algorithm

Optimizing the database queries is one of hard research problems. Exhaustive search techniques like dynamic programming is suitable for queries with a few relations, but by increasing the number of relations in query, much use of memory and processing is needed, and the use of these methods is not suitable, so we have to use random and evolutionary methods. The use of evolutionary methods, beca...

Towards Bridging the Expressiveness Gap Between Relational and Deductive Databases

SQL technology has evolved during last years, and systems are being more powerful and scalable. However, there exist yet some expressiveness limitations that can be otherwise overcome with inputs from deductive databases. This paper focuses on both practical and theoretical expressiveness issues in current SQL implementations that are overcome in the Datalog Educational System (DES), a deductiv...
